Far away on another part of the
plateau was a rather pleasant expanse of light grass amid a sparse aspen wood.
There were lizards and fireflies and other critters, and an abundance of
mushrooms to pick.
I found the Old Man there again. He
was chopping wood. He said getting the tree to fall exactly where you want it
is something of an art, and he mentioned something about what direction you
should put your hips in....
Well, I gave it my best shot, and
knocked down a huge pine tree in such
a way that it made a bridge for me to cross a deep, deep gorge—for there was a shrine atop a cliff on the other side.
There were also more bokoblins.
I tried picking them off with my
arrows, but I really was not a very
fair shot; I just had to go over there and deal with them personally.
And after I’d done that, it was a long, tall, terrifyingly-taller-than-I’d-thought
climb to the top, and the shrine.
This shrine gave me the power of
Stasis—I could freeze objects in time, and manipulate their stored kinetic
energy to boot!
Most
frightening actually. o__o
Fortunately there were no crawlies
in that one.
