I climbed down, and the Old Man was
there—sailing in with a paraglider.
He knew about the Great Plateau.
And he told me there was no way off it—except
by paraglider.
He also said he’d be willing to
give me his paraglider, in return for something....
He pointed out to me a glowing
orange mound a little way away, on the other side of a little muddy pond in a
depression. A Shrine. There was treasure in there, and if I could bring it to
him I could have his paraglider.
Well.
Okay.
There were more bokoblins near an
easy crossing over the pond, but.... I decided to circle wide again and take
the scenic route. And I entered the shrine.
The Oman Au Shrine it was called.
Inside, I downloaded the Magnesis
ability into my Sheikah Slate, and passed a puzzling series of magnet-based
trials—and one smaller, much livelier
version of those four-legged rust-heaps outside!—to make it all the way to
where this ancient, decrepit shaman or sage—Oman Au—sat waiting for me. He sat
cross-legged, his hands in some serene pose.
And for passing his trial he gave
me a Spirit Orb, which seemed to float out of his chest and into my own. I
gasped at the contact, and held my hand over my heart in feeling it....
And Oman Au, his work done, seemed
to whisp away like sand into a brilliant, evaporating teal light. May he be at
peace.
And I came back outside.
The Old Man was there, and I asked
him for his paraglider. But he said there were still three more shrines about
the Plateau—and that he’d never said he wanted only one treasure!
Well.... I guess I had more places
to go, then.
